The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has started investigating complaints regarding loss of brakes in 2015 and 2016 F-150s. Twenty-five complaints have been made so far by owners of F-150s with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. All of the complaints refer to the brake pedal going to the floor and a loss of braking ability. They also all reported low or no brake fluid. One difference is that the 2015 vehicles lit up the brake warning light, while 2016 models didn’t. No crashes, injuries or deaths are reported in the complaints.
