The insurance industry has called for a crackdown on fraudulent whiplash claims which are pushing up the cost of car insurance for all motorists. The UK has become the “whiplash capital of Europe”, with £2 billion paid out and one in every 140 people claiming for a whiplash injury each year, according to the Association.
