Cheap Auto Quote, Riding, Boating and Camping Season
Turn the day you cover and lock up your bike, boat or RV into the foundation for another year of adventure. Here are some suggested tips
Update your insurance policy as needed.
Give your insurer a call, or log into your policy, to make sure you’ve got enough coverage for the off-season. Coverages like these may be even more valuable when your vehicle is in storage:
• Comprehensive/collision: Comprehensive covers fire and theft, as well as damage caused by storage roofs buckling or collapsing. We get a lot of these claims from boat and RV customers following big snow storms. This also helps protect you from the unexpected — like having a family of otters “move in” to your boat for the winter. (True story!)
• Bodily injury/property damage: If your bike, boat or RV catches fire while in storage, and the fire spreads, property damage helps cover repairs to the building or to other vehicles.
Shield your bike, boat or RV from the elements.
Thoroughly winterize your vehicle or vessel, following the manufacturer’s recommendations, so you’re ready to go in 2013. This can help prevent freeze damage and maintenance issues that your insurer likely won’t cover.
